My first CX race
My first CX race STATEN ISLAND CX SICX at last Saturday and got 9th out of 100! Check me at 12:20, Takahiro at 14:20. It was super tough but super fun!

Bagdad Cafe (1987) by Percy Adlon
半分忘れかけていたこの映画、改めてもう一度観た。良いねー。勝手にアメリカ映画だと思い込んでいた、、そして最初の方に出てくるこの絵！欲しい！モハベ砂漠にある実在した太陽熱発電所付近で風の強い日に本当に起こった怪現象らしい。ポスターとか無いかなー。
I almost forgot about this movie, so I watched it again last night. I thought this was an American film for some reason, but it's actually a German film. Among its mesmerizing contents, a painting that appears in the beginning caught my attention. The painting shows an unusual phenomenon that a solar power plant offten caused in the Mojave Desert. Does anyone know if the painting was reproduced as a poster?

昔からニッケルはコインとしては柔らかい方らしく、イタズラをしている方々がいるもようです。ebay等のオークションで金を払ってまでも欲しいとは思いませんが、ガイコツのは渋いなー。自分の財布に回って来たら絶対キープでしょう。
It seems American nickel coins have been made from softer metal since early 1900's and this has been provoking creative mischief for a long time. I don't think I would pay hundreds of dollars for them on ebay, but the ones with skulls would be definite keepers if any of them ever land in my wallet.

Movie in Time
Uncle Boonmee (2010) by Apichatpong Weerasethakul
久しぶりに変な映画を観た。精霊や人の魂に対する見方はアジアならばどの国にも共通するのか考えさせられた。監督がタイでは"Invisible Life"は一般的に信じられているってインタビューで言ってた。ジャングルで幼少期を過ごしたのか、森がしきりに出てきて神秘的に描かれてる。残りの映画もディグしてみよう。
Just watched an interesting movie last night. Not sure if it's because of religion, but it somehow made me think there are a lots of similarities in people's view on spirituality and human soul in asian countries. The director references "Invisible Life", a common belief in Thailand. He also uses the jungle often as the spiritual stage. I'll definitely add more of his movies in my list.
