Movie in Time
KHADAK (2006) by Brosens & Woodworth
最近は良い映画にあまり当たらないのでこれを観た時に、今後長く通うであろう定食屋を見つけた気分の様になった。簡単に言えば、モンゴルで起こる見せかけの疫病を理由に強制移住させられる人間たちの話。間を長く使っている映画なので、観る前にある種の覚悟が必要。Béla Tarrのスタイルに似てるかも。
It's difficult for me to find a good movie these days so I felt like found a new favorite lunch spot when I netflixed this last night. Long story short, Set in the frozen steppes of Mongolia, Khadak tells the epic story of Bagi, a young nomad confronted with his destiny to become a shaman. A plague strikes the animals and the nomads are forcibly relocated to desolated mining towns. Bagi saves the life of a beautiful coal thief, Zolzaya, and together they reveal the plague was a lie fabricated to eradicate nomadism. A sublime revolution ensues.
I dig the dialogue-less style which I thought similar to Béla Tarr's style.
